Behavior
Please be attentive to instructions in class since you will miss out if you are not paying attention. Be respectful of those around you who want to learn by not distracting them when we are teaching.
In class, there will be times for you to interact with your friends when we are working one on one with others.
Attitude is everything. If a step or formation is difficult for you, please do your best with a positive and happy attitude. Some of the biggest breakdowns in team or class unity occur when dancers give up, complain, or talk back.
We want this dance experience to be conducive for everyone, so please refrain from any kind of behavior that will make your partner or others feel uncomfortable.

For example: no flirting, no telling crude jokes, no talking bad or making fun of someone else, etc. Be respectful of other’s feelings and physical space.
As a part of our youth program, we expect our students to not only be respectful of others feelings and space but on a much deeper level than most organizations. We expect our students to always touch each other in an appropriate manner that is conducive to how young ladies and gentlemen should act. Gentlemen in particular are required to use the utmost decorum when dancing with the ladies. No dancer should feel uncomfortable dancing under any circumstances. Students are encouraged to inform Tricia or an assistant of any incident in which inappropriate behavior has occurred so that it may be taken care of immediately. Students that are excessively talkative, disrespectful, or non compliant in class will be asked to leave practice for the day. If this occurs 3 times, the student is excused from classes for the year. If this occurs, any tuition, competition or camp money that has been paid will not be refunded. Any predatory behavior (Hazing, bullying, stalking, assault, or anything of a toxic nature) is absolutely not tolerated and will result in immediate expulsion from Silhouette. Due to the importance of physical and emotional safety for all in Silhouette, the guilty party will not be admitted into any Silhouette function from that time forth. Silhouette Dancers are also expected to treat their own bodies with respect. Dancers should eat right and get adequate sleep. In addition, no dancer is permitted to drink alcohol or take any kind of drugs. Any dancer who is found abusing any substance will be immediately expelled from the Silhouette Program. |
